Administrative Support Professional – Team Lead

Alberta College of Social Workers (ACSW) serves as the regulatory body for the profession of social work in Alberta. Its regulatory obligations are legislated under the Health Professions Act (HPA).  Mandated objectives of the ACSW are:  to serve and protect the public interest; to provide direction and to regulate the profession; to establish, maintain and enforce standards for registration, continuing competence and standards of practice; to establish, maintain and enforce a code of ethics and to approve educational programs for registration purposes.  The ACSW also represents the social work profession in Alberta and supports membership activities that promote skilled and ethical social work practice.  

 

The Administrative Support Team Lead is responsible to lead, participate in administrative duties and provides supervision for the work of a busy administrative support team.  Your duties will include, leading, assigning and participating in the work of the team with responsibility for ensuring effective administrative support in a high-volume environment. You will work closely with ACSW program leaders, participate on the management team and will assign work for both general and specialized administrative supports to meet operational requirements.  This Position reports to the Registration Coordinator, ACSW.

 

Knowledge and Skills Required for success in this role:

  • Post Secondary education in secretarial or administrative professionals program supplemented with considerable experience (Minimum 5 years) working in a professional office setting in a leadership or supervisory role. 
  • Excellent, verbal, written and interpersonal communication
  • Proven supervisory and team leadership abilities
  • Excellent working knowledge of office equipment (computer, database systems and software, copier/fax)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Access, Outlook
  • Superior organizational skills with ability to prioritize work and meet timelines
  • High degree of attentiveness to detail and accuracy
  • Understanding of confidentiality in professional and legislated context
  • Experience with data entry and financial management processes an asset
  • Experience with project development and implementation an asset
  • Knowledge of the profession of social work, Health Professions Act and ACSW organizational structure an asset 

 

Salary:  $62,308
