Social Workers Celebrating National Aboriginal Day

National Aboriginal Day was proclaimed in 1996 as a national day of celebration by Governor General Romeo LeBlanc. In Alberta, there are three First Nations Treaties: Treaty 6, Treaty 7 and Treaty 8 and eight Métis Settlements. There are five main Indigenous languages in Alberta, Blackfood, Chipewyan (Dene), Plains Cree, Stoney (Nakota) and Michif spoken by the Métis people.
