Alternative Format
The Self Assessment forms included with the current ACSW competence program are based on common ethics and standards of practice for social workers. Some social workers with more extensive or specialized practice find it hard to relate to the practice statements within the forms. As an alternative, you may provide an assessment in a narrative format for the committee to review. Please note, employment-based assessments are not a sufficient alternative to the ACSW form as they normally reflect employment policies and needs rather than social work practice.
