Relief Shelter Counselor

This is a union position/s reporting to the Manager of Emergency Shelter Services. The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter is a 24-hour, 7 (seven) days a week facility. Hours will vary according to the needs. Preferences will be given to candidates who are available for day shifts through the weekday & overnight shifts for weekday and weekend

Seniors Resource Coordinator - Competition # 13-098

This is a contract full-time position for 40 hours per week with the possibility of becoming permanent. As a Seniors Resource Coordinator, the successful candidate will work with a team that receives, assesses, and addresses reports of elder abuse in Edmonton. It is essential the successful candidate has strong collaboration skills in order to work closely with clients, police, and other agencies to provide quality assistance to seniors at risk or experiencing abuse. You will work with professionals, concerned community members, family members and the seniors themselves. Using analytical skills and good judgement, the successful candidate will work collaboratively within the Elder Abuse Resource and Supports Team to assess cases and provide support to clients and families in need. Strong communication skills are an asset, as you will be required to raise community awareness of this issue through presentations, writing articles, and attending community events. The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter Invites applications for the positions of PERMANENT PART TIME CHILDCARE PROFESSIONAL Dates Available: Immediately The Children Services Program provides counselling and SPECIALIZED childcare services to children, youth and families, both in the shelter and through outreach service. The program supports families seeking to live lives free from family violence and abuse. The candidates will provide specialized services to children who have experienced and/or witnessed “Family Violence and abuse. The position is designed to bridge the services between the counselling team and the childcare team. The childcare professionals are union position(s) reporting to the Manager of Children Services. The Calgary Women’s Emergency Shelter is a 24-hour, seven day a week facility. The permanent part time position will work Monday through Friday, 3:30pm to 8:30pm, 25 hours per week with some flexibility to meet the needs of the clients and the program.
