| Qualifications: | The Successful applicant must possess:
• Diploma in Social Work, Child and Youth Care, Early Childhood, or related Social Sciences or Human Services degree or equivalent • Submit a Criminal Record and CYIM check • Valid Alberta Driver’s Licence, reliable vehicle with appropriate insurance, and clean driver’s abstract Required Skill and Abilities: • Highly motivated, and able to work independently • Adaptability and flexibility • Knowledge of child development, positive discipline strategies and family dynamics. • Ability to develop and maintain good relationships with support networks, outside agencies and community resources • Good writing skills and computer skills • Knowledge of aboriginal culture is an asset Closing date: Open until position filled |
| Description: | The Family Service Specialist provides direct work to families, youth and children as lead agency staff. The Specialist will provide therapeutic interventions under the Outcome Based Service Delivery Model and has a unique opportunity to ensure the best outcomes for families.
Our staff will become the compass point for the family and others involved in the case. Our family service specialist will convene and facilitate family care teams. The family service specialists will be the primary caseworker and will provide support to the children, youth, family and alternative caregivers. The Specialist works 40 hours per week and must be flexible as evening and weekend work is required to accommodate families' schedules. |
