Conference Planning Committee

Each year a group of local member volunteers form the Conference Planning Committee with staff support provided by the Professional Affairs Coordinator & the Promotions Coordinator. The committee members put forward names for the Conference chair or co-chairs to ACSW council. Council will then ratify their appointment.

This committee consists of a core group that oversees delegated conference functions from theme selection, conference format to evaluation roll-ups post conference. Several sub-committees, with specific tasks and more limited time commitments, also depend on member volunteer support. There is a range of volunteer opportunities.

This committee functions to support professional development (continuing competence) and networking. Meeting related expenses are reimbursed. Members interested in becoming involved with conference planning are encouraged to indicate this on their renewal form or contact the ACSW office.
