Celebrating Social Workers

Social Workers around the world will join together to celebrate World Social Work Day on March 15, 2011. This annual event, celebrated on the third Tuesday in March, focuses on social work contributions to society.

During the week of March 14-18, the Neighbourhood and Community Development (NCD) Branch of Community Services will have a display set up in the foyer of City Hall to showcase the varied work of City of Edmonton social workers.

Please feel free to drop by and take a look. To all the social workers in NCD who make a positive difference in peoples' lives everyday - THANK YOU!

World Social Work Day is also part of an ongoing dialogue about how to address challenging social conditions worldwide.

On a national level, each province selects a week in March to celebrate our social ideals and values, and to tell the world around us that this is what we believe in.
