Standards of Practice
In December 2007, ACSW Council approved an updated version of the Standards of Practice. These Standards represent our knowledge and understanding at the end of 2007. It is to be expected that they will grow and change as the profession learns more about “best practices” and as new issues come forward. Areas currently under development include standards with regard to working with Aboriginal communities, advances in technology, and identifying core competencies for social workers.
